rule one.   Respect my time.   I can't spare hours every night to RP, I'm a full-time artist who can work up to 12 hours a day. I'm often exhausted and can't dedicate hardcore static-level hours to roleplay several nights a week. I don't tolerate being pressured to do so, ever. I'm available most afternoons and evenings, but I prefer venue RP if our characters haven't interacted before.

rule two.   No blending.   I require anyone I choose to roleplay with to have a very strong IC-OOC barrier. Blending is when OOC feelings intertwine with IC ones, whether they be good or bad. Just because my character is mad at you doesn't mean I am, and you shouldn't assume that of me. I don't tolerate blending in the slightest, and won't RP with anyone who shows signs of it.

rule three.   Age requirement.   If you OOC are not over the age of 21, do not interact with me. I am a 30+ adult who is not interested in roleplaying with someone a decade younger than me. With this, I refuse to RP with characters under the age of 18, as all of my OCs are uncomfortable interacting with minors and so am I.

rule four.   muse death.   I do not allow my muse to be murdered or maimed unless previously plotted. All plotted deaths are subject to being AU as I like my muse and do not want him to die permanently. As he is an archfey, he is extremely hard to kill anyway...
Dismemberment or permanent alteration of my muse can happen with plotting with trusted individuals only, but is very rare.

rule five.   metagaming.   Unless discussed prior to a scene, I will never use information that I, the writer, knows about a character that my muse does not know. This includes information I may read on a carrd or profile before interacting. I ask that the same courtesy be given to me, that you do not use information found here to get an edge on Cael unless it's something your muse may know from the hooks section.

rule six.   boundaries.   I don't tolerate pushy behavior, and I don't tolerate those who are very obviously only roleplaying with my muse to get something out of her or out of me. I'm liberal with setting boundaries for my own comfort. If I lay down a boundary with you, respect it or else.

rule seven.   no bigotry.   I do not and will never roleplay with characters that are representations of racist, transphobic, or homophobic themes. I shouldn't have to put the specific types of characters/tropes in question here for it to be understood. I will also not roleplay with writers who are bigoted in anyway - absolutely no racism, homophobia, or transphobia will be tolerated in any way. It's an instant blacklist.

rule eight.   shipping and nsfw.   Simply put, Cael is married and unavailable for both. Cael is neither multiship nor poly.

rule nine.   code sharing.   I only share my code with those I've established a rapport with. I'm happy to share art and images of Cael as he looks different than vanilla, but I'm not comfortable giving certain things away to just anyone - please consider how long we've interacted before asking.

Born of a single union of an unknown Roegadyn woman and a Sharlayan Duskwight father, Caelholdt was left to the settlements of Cedarwood, La Noscea as a baby. Taken in by the retired pirates that worked the land, he grew up tending flocks of dodo, harvesting orange trees, and milling La Noscean rye grain. He learned to fish off the docks of Moraby Bay, developing a love for fishing that persists to this day.
After a life of adventure, he has eventually settled down deep within the Shroud, having obtained an old warehouse he's converted into his spirits distillery & performance hall, the Still & Strings. His liquors are the pride of his life, devoting most of his time to crafting new and unique flavors of many different types of spirits. His favorite, however, will always be La Noscean-style rye whisky. He lives now deep in the Shroud, happily wed to his partner.

shrewd dealer. When it comes to Caelholdt, nothing is free. Not even a scrap of information. He's always going to try and make deals out of anything - even framing gifts as exchanges of goods. Can you out-negotiate a master?
a listening ear. bartenders often listen to anyone and everyone's woes, and Cael's no exception. He's wise for his years, and can offer advice to anyone fallen on some hardship - though, he might make you buy a drink first...

beguiling voice. when he sings, none can resist the song. if one were to hear his voice echoing in the forest, they would surely follow the sound to find its maker. his voice is nigh irresistible to heed, whether it be commands or suggestions.
master of disguise. he is constantly concealing his true form to normal people - very rarely does he present anyone with his real self.
innate spellcaster. As a fey creature, Caelholdt requires no external focus to cast spells. He is able to simply fire magic from his fingertips innately, and can quite literally blow you up with his mind. Of course, occasionally, fey magic goes wild...

master of magick. even in his youth, magic use came to Cael very easily. He has an abundance of aether to use, and he uses it effortlessly.

If you ever had a doubt about what your drink order should be, talk to Cael. He's a master distiller of whiskey, moonshine, and rum, and has thoughts on just about any cocktail under the sun. He can even make a special cocktail tailored to your tastes just for you, if you find him bartending. Be prepared for him to talk your ear off about his current experimental batch of liquor, he loves to infuse his whiskeys with seasonal flavors and adores using friends as his tasting guinea pigs.Being a prolific bartender and cocktail recipe writer, Cael will instantly judge a subpar cocktail for what it is and what it's lacking. If you mess up his order, Hell hath no fury like a distiller scorned.Alternatively: Is your character looking for a stable job? In his years as a distiller, Cael has been operating as a one-man band. As a self-proclaimed rockstar, Caelholdt's lifelong passion is, and always has been, music. he's played his signature style of noisy rock n' roll at nearly every performance hall that's ever cropped up across the globe. Caelholdt is a musician and performer - if desired, he can be asked to perform at and even help in hosting events and shows. His favourite instrument is the guitar - but if you had to ask him to choose a favorite between the eighteen different ones he owns, he would probably ask you to leave. His collection of high-tech guitars, reverse engineered and tinkered to be powered by crystal, aether, or ceruleum, all have a distinct look and sound. On top of that, he has several acoustics, all of which sound different and as he says, each of his guitars has a certain "bite" to it that is different from any others. Each one is named, and he can recite them all. He can be found in all of the strangest places, singing, strumming an instrument, or generally making some sort of musical noise.

Caelholdt is a man that consumed the heart of a Madbloom (a faerie), triggering a conversion of his person that exists somewhere between death and life - and in that transformation, he obtained the power and seat of the Archfey that he killed. As an archfey creatureu himself now, he holds power on par with several of Eorzea's elder primals. His aether is heavy and wide around him, and feels oppressive to be in the sphere of. He has a host of faerie subjects that follow his command.As an archfey, he commands his own pocket of Feywild he's come to call his domain of delight - and he has come to be known as a sort of patron of revelry. His skills as a musician and public figure in his ordinary life translated to a creature who one might honor should they wish to have their next big party go off without a hitch. He can be found roaming Hydaelyn, looking to bless parties, gatherings, and festivals with his presence.Alternatively: Is your character helpless? Hungry for power over others? In need of a little boost to win over the hearts of others? Caelholdt is an archfey with the power to create pacts, and recruit those who do so to his side as his warlocks. this shroudling saved him from the very brink. originally, Cael had been hired as a handler to Martin, classified as a bodyguard and interpreter for them. Martin knew him at first only by his voice, having enjoyed his music from afar. However, after some time working for them, he came to care deeply for his employer - so much so that he was willing to violate HR and court them. After a year or so of dating, the pair wed at the Bel Canto, and have been together for six years since. Their bond is nigh unbreakable, having been through it all.

He has many siblings, but Siobhan is the one that seems to be the glue to the family. She's the only one willing to keep in contact with Cahir Kavanagh, their father, and Cael will pass messages to him and other family members through her. Siobhan helps Caelholdt with odd jobs and information gathering when she's able, and can even lend him her eyes should she allow it. In exchange, Siobhan's prized posessions are kept safe when she is gone for long months on her many travels, and she's given a place to sing her songs.

there's something special about a patron and his first servant. Having heard of a way to obtain power or favor by bringing tribute to a certain otherworldly altar hidden away in the outskirts of Amdapor, Kiran summoned Caelholdt in a time of need. For a ritual exchange of his strongest memory, Caelholdt gave him the power to keep himself anchored to this world - and Kiran seems keen to master the fey boon that his patron has given.

Once just a dear friend, now a loyal subordinate. Naid was a close friend of Caelholdt's even before his ascension to his throne - having been a wonderful help with the Still & Strings and more. One day, in a vulnerable moment, Naid learned of Cael's true nature and what he could do for her. Despite his protesting to bring his friend into a contract, she insisted. In the ritual exchange of her strongest memory for his power, Naid has become adept at wielding her patron's gift and proven herself a loyal compatriot again and again.
